ANZAC Day 2019 in Ottawa, 25 April 2019
Every year in Canada, the High Commissions of Australia and New Zealand jointly host ANZAC Day commemorations at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa on 25 April. The day of remembrance honours Australians and New Zealanders who fought, were wounded, and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. ANZAC Day's origins, however, lie in commemorating those who served in the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) during the First World War's Gallipoli campaign, which lasted from the amphibious landings along the Gallipoli peninsula on 25 April 1915 to the evacuation of the ANZACs on 20 December 1915.
